Husband to an amazing wife, Dad to a beautiful baby girl, oldest brother of 6 siblings, lawyer for powersports and cycling industries, recovering triathlete, retired runner, revived golfer, avid sports fan (Hawkeyes, Bears, Bulls, Cubs, Wild, MN United), and strong rider in all things straight, hilly and non-technical (but I continue to work on my weaknesses).
Favorite 45NRTH tire
Favorite 45NRTH piece of non-rubber gear
Naughtvind bibs – the only winter cycling pants I will ever wear.
Favorite, or most notable, winter fat bike accomplishment or experience
1st place in the 30-39 Age Group for 2017 Great Lakes Fat Bike Series. That said, the thing that keeps me coming back after 25 years of training and racing is not the awards or accolades - it is the people, the events, the post-race music, food and beers, and all of my amazing 45NRTH gear that keeps me warm.
Biggest piece of advice you have to a new rider
When people ask me what tires to run in the winter, I say “One studded needed”. Don’t get wrapped up in all the fine details of riding, enjoy the outdoors, and give yourself some props (you stud) for braving the rain, sleet, snow, wind, tornados, whatever mother nature throws at you!
